While actress Meryl Streep was accepting a lifetime achievement award at the Golden Globes and using her acceptance speech as a stage on which to share her opinion of President-elect Donald Trump allegedly mocking a disabled reporter, it seems she must have missed another glaringly obvious example of mockery.
Or maybe she just didn’t care because the person who was doing the mocking was President Barack Obama.
Trump became Public Enemy No. 1 for liberals when it appeared that he mocked disabled reporter, Serge Kovaleski.
He made awkward hand gestures that were meant, as Trump himself explained, to show a man “groveling” because he forgot about a story he had written over a decade ago.
Hillary flunky who lost big. For the 100th time, I never "mocked" a disabled reporter (would never do that) but simply showed him…….
Kovaleski suffers from a condition known as arthrogryposis, affecting the movement and shape of his limbs, most notably his arms. Trump was attacked by both conservative and liberal media following the video footage of the incident.
However, no one seemed to bat an eye — including Meryl Streep — when Obama ran an ad during his bid for the presidency eight years ago that mocked his Republican opponent, Sen. John McCain, for his war-disability related inability to use a computer or send e-mail.
The ad was later dropped, but Obama certainly knew that McCain’s injuries were such that he was physically unable to perform those basic tasks.
You can see that ad here:
ccording to reports, “McCain’s severe war injuries prevent him from combing his hair, typing on a keyboard or tying his shoes.” Making matters worse, after the ad ran, liberal mainstream media took it upon themselves to attack McCain instead of the one responsible for the mockery, Obama.
“He doesn’t use one because he doesn’t WANT TO,” wrote Larry Rohter, a contributor to The New York Times. “That’s just called plain old-fashioned lazy.
“Perhaps Mr. McCain has the same effect on computers as he does on airplanes. He crashed 5 of the latter,” he added.
Also, let’s not forget that while Obama was on “The Tonight Show” with Jay Leno, he mocked the Special Olympics as well. See that clip here:
This is absolutely despicable.
While Trump has vehemently denied any wrongdoing, Obama full well knew about McCain’s injuries and decided to use it to sling mud. How is this OK to lifetime achievement award recipient Meryl Streep?
She must have taken a page from Kovaleski’s book and simply “forgot” that that ad ever existed.
