Is Megyn Kelly Planning A Move To CNN?
Controversial Fox News host Megyn Kelly is being courted by CNN’s president for a slot on his cable network.
Jeff Zucker is actively pursuing Kelly to anchor the 8 p.m. or 9 p.m. hour on his network, Drudge is reporting, and the rumor is that Kelly could say yes.
“He is moving the Himalayan mountains to get her,” a top insider explains. “But they are tripped up on money. He simply can’t pay her the $20 million a year FOX has on the table.” Kelly’s contract is up in July 2017.
Kelly has been mired in controversy since her entanglement with Donald Trump during the primary campaign. The President-Elect’s supporters have criticized her and she is claiming that she has been harassed and stalked since then.
Drudge reports that the chance to go head-to-head against her Fox arch-nemesis Bill O’Reilly at the same time slot might be too hard to resist.
Kelly is “despised” by fellow on-air talent, the report claims, and Fox insiders say the animus has only gotten worse since the release of her new book, which has become a best seller.
Drudge reports that Zucker would “compensate her salary” with “heavy promotion and synergy across all Time Warner” outlets.
A top source close to the action describes how Megyn would be an immediate international star at CNN. “It’s the opportunity of lifetime.”
“She could even star in a movie at WARNER BROS.”
Kelly’s book “Settle For More” tells of inter-office politics at the Fox News Channel that has O’Reilly and others fuming.
Much of the book, however, describes her story of how her life changed after she tangled with the soon-to-be President of the United States.
Ms. Kelly writes that her problems started in August, the Monday before the first Republican presidential primary debate. She had just done a segment on her show, “The Kelly File,” that infuriated Mr. Trump. He refused to make his own scheduled appearance on her show unless she phoned him personally.
“I almost unleashed my beautiful Twitter account against you,” she says he told her, “and I still may.”
And he did. And the rest is history.
Now is Megyn Kelly history from Fox News? What do you think? Should she stay or go?
